Division 3, Geometry Structure / The Jungle Bloke
This team presented a serious and thought-provoking solution, incorporating original music, interpretive dance, an innovative script, and striking costumes. Those features would be impressive enough by themselves, but this performance solved two different problems simultaneously. For example, the anthropologically interesting jungle hut observed in The Jungle Bloke was also an enlarged structure replica in Geometry Structure. For seamlessly combining equal portions of art and engineering while fulfilling two separate sets of requirements, this Ranatra Fusca is awarded to the multi-tasking Division 3 team from Capital Baptist Homeschool Cooperative.
Cherry Run Elementary School
Division 1, The Jungle Bloke (Coach Halley)
The members of this team wanted to do Odyssey of the Mind so much that they crafted a distinctive and innovative long term performance – even though there were only two of them. They never lacked enthusiasm for the challenge, or ever doubted that they could solve the problem. For two dedicated Omers doing the work of seven, Omer’s Award goes to Cherry Run Elementary School, Division 1A, The Jungle Bloke.
Robinson Secondary School Team A
Division 3, The Great Parade (Coach Tussing)
While solving the Spontaneous problem, the members of this team were extremely courteous to each other, thoughtfully listening to the ideas of all and incorporating different methods of problem solving as suggested by different team members. They worked exceptionally well together and displayed teamwork and sportsmanship far above any team that the head judge had seen in many years of judging Spontaneous. Their solution to the problem was extraordinary and showed an insight obtainable only through such outstanding teamwork. For taking cooperation to a new level, Omer’s Award goes to Robinson Secondary School Team A, Division 3, The Great Parade.
