The Odyssey of the Mind program in Northern Virginia has grown significantly. Therefore, starting in the 2011-2012 season, Regions 8 and 13 have split to form Regions 9, 11, and 12. Please review this explanation of the new regions and detailed breakdown of Northern Virginia schools.

Spontaneous Invitational Registration Deadline This Friday
The registration deadline for the TJHSST Spontaneous Invitational is this Friday, February 10. Details for the event (including the cost and registration process) can be found on the Events page of this site.
The invitational is a great way to see what it’s like to compete in spontaneous at the Regional Tournament. We encourage all teams to participate in this practice event. Register soon to ensure your team’s spot!
Reminder: Coaches’ Q&A on Monday, February 6
Our Q&A session for coaches is coming up in one week. From 6:00-9:00 in the evening at the Reston Regional Library (Meeting Room 2), our Tournament Directors and Problem Captains will be available to answer any questions you have as you prepare for the upcoming tournament. Drop in for a few minutes or stay the whole time!

If you do not see your team listed, please contact our Tournament Director immediately. Remember that tournament fees must be mailed to our Treasurer and received by January 31.
Tournament Registration Extended to January 20
We have extended the Tournament registration deadline to midnight Friday, January 20, 2012 to accommodate those who are having difficulty. Also, don’t forget that you need the judge’s ID number and the judge’s name exactly as it was entered during Judges registration.
We also want to remind coaches and teams that there are two separate registrations for NoVA North (Region 9) and NoVA South (Region 12) this year. The Tournament registration for Region 12 is already closed. Please see their web site for contact information if you missed the deadline for the NoVA South Tournament Registration and are part of their region.
Please note that Judges registration will remain open for several more weeks.
